Mr. Colen L. Horne, Jr., age 53 of Glenwood, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in Vidalia at Meadows Regional Medical Center following his battle with COVID.
He was born on August 27, 1968 in Dublin, GA to Colen Lee Horne, Sr. and Louella Powell Horne. He was a member and a deacon of Glenwood First Baptist Church where he also taught the Adult Sunday School Class. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being on the farm. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, B.L. and Jimmie Powell; his paternal grandparents, Ralph M. Horne, Sr. and Ruby Marguerite Horne; and an adopted brother, James D. Horne.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Horne is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Rhonda Horne; two sons, Joshua Horne and Caleb Horne; a daughter, Patricia Horne; two brothers, Christopher Horne (Dana) and BL Horne (Ginger); and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 9:00am until 10:00am at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Graveside service and interment will follow at 10:00am at the cemetery with Pastor Kevin Hammons and Pastor BL Horne to officiate.
