Obituary for: Glendel Ray Cheek
Mr. Glendel Ray Cheek, age 80 of Glenwood, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Memorial Health in Savannah.
Mr. Cheek was born on August 22, 1940 in Smithville, Mississippi to the late Glen and Mamie Towery Cheek. He was a retired correctional officer and was a U. S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Cheek; one son, Ricky Williams (Denise) of Glenwood; one daughter, Tanya Barnes (Heath) of Cedar Crossing ; four grandchildren, Dustin Williams, Chris Williams, Hunter Davis, and Bryson Davis; three great-grandchildren, Destin Williams, Ashanti Williams, and Dustin Williams, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Roberts – Stewart Funeral Home, Glenwood Chapel.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11:00am at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Rogers to officiate. Graveside service and interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Dustin Williams, Chris Williams, Hunter Davis, Bryson Davis, Dustin Williams, Jr., and Buddy Tootle.
